Course Title: Managing Change for Transformation   

Course Description 

 

This course will provide the participants with an integrated and practical approach to understand the basic concepts of Managing Change strategies and techniques and also to provoke critical thinking about various principles, guidelines and mechanisms adopted in this science. It aims to enhance skills for an effective change programme in the public sector.

The purpose of this programme is to familiarise the participants with the various aspects of change with a view that conducting Government business is exciting and challenging.

Due to the increasing demand for a better service, it is important that public officers not only bring a change in the way that they do things but also bring a change of mindset. For this to happen, it is important that different stakeholders understand the reason for change and are part of it.

Moreover, in line with the transformation that the Government is advocating, the Vision 2030 is focused on innovation and creativity. Hence, a modernization process in the public sector is very much needed.

The objectives of the course are to enable participants to:

  • Understand the importance of Change and overcoming resistance to change;
  • Managing change and who should be involved;
  • Understand the concept of organisational change;
  • Understand why people should be involved for change to happen;
  • Importance of communication in the change process;
