Course Title: Negotiation and Meditation Skills

Course Description

Any dispute that arises needs to be resolved in a very professional way. Negotiation and Mediation are two methods of dispute resolution where parties come together and state their issues and look for an appropriate outcome.

Negotiation and mediation require almost similar skills and approaches, in other words, a win-win outcome or agreement.

Mediation involves two parties who jointly invite a third party who will facilitate the process in reaching an agreement. Mediation is about resolving the issue on basis of the positions of the two parties in dispute.

In some cases the mediator might need to be conversant with law such as contract law and even have access to confidential information data. However, the principles of mediation require that the facilitator understands the concerns of the two parties. Through joint or separate sessions with parties, the mediator helps both sides define the issues clearly, understand each other's position and move closer to resolution

Negotiation concerns obtaining agreement on interest that each party may have.

He will prepare them so that they can better negotiate and he will coach them during the negotiation.
