Course Outline 

Public sector organisations are increasingly nowadays under the spot-light (including private organisations) and are obliged to adhere to the concept of accountability, transparency and good governance.

In this course, the participants will know the overall strategic approach of Mauritius in the fight against corruption and money laundering. Indeed,  knowing the two mains legislations is a ‘must’:  Prevention of Corruption Act (PoCA,2002) 2002 and the Financial Intelligence and Anti-Money Laundering Act (FIAMLA,2002).These legislations promote, amongst others, the principles of rule of law, proper management of public affairs, public property, transparency, accountability and integrity.

Course Objectives 

The objectives of the course are to enable participants to:

• Understand the mandate of ICAC
• Identify essentials elements of the PoCA 2002 and also, FIAMLA 2002 (relevant definitions, type of offences, reporting mechanism)
• Understand anti-corruption tools and mechanisms to be used in the public sector to enhance organisational integrity
• Be effective in reinforcing public sector integrity and how ICAC could support your ministry/organisation
