Course Title: Sustainable Service Delivery
Course Outline
This course has been developed to help public officers understand the importance of implementing service continuity within their specific departments and Ministries. There are a number of activities that need to be put in place in order to ensure service continuity in any organisation and to develop a service resilience attitude among public officers. As part of this process, it is important that Ministries identify and understand the inter dependencies of their activities and the activities of other Ministries or private entities such as major suppliers or providers of critical infrastructure such as power, water and telecommunications. The process involves three interlinked activities, that is, one which help to protect or recover the services, the critical activities, people and resources of the organisation. The second which help to identify the impact of hazards that could cause a service interruption and thirdly by assessing these, public officers will be able to conduct a “impact risk assessment “and prioritise their risk reduction activities.
